Hi!

Well, i've made for fun a cover of Cassandra and i wonder what you could think about it. I've changed it a little. So if you have some time to listen to it, tell me what you think about it (or to erase it if you prefer this not to appear here <!--emo&:blush:--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/blush.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='blush.gif' /><!--endemo--> )
The sound is not that good cause i made it at home and i'm not a good in mastering and mixing.

here is the song:<a href='http://fr.audiofanzine.com/compos/titres/media,idproduit,48309,mode,down.html' target='_blank'>CAssadra cover load.</a>

<a href='http://fr.audiofanzine.com/compos/titres/media,idproduit,48309,mode,stream.html' target='_blank'>Cassandra cover / streaming</a>

Thanks and see you.

I supposed so, that's why I'm letting this live. Otherwise... <!--emo&:giljotiini:--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/giljotiini.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='giljotiini.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Nah, I'm kidding. Hee hee. Just try not to make multiple topics about the same thing in the future: you certainly could put ToT covers (and only those kind of musical creations) here instead of the usual forum. <!--emo&;)--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' /><!--endemo-->

i've been a little busy those last weeks but i have worked a little on the mix of this cover.
There is still no voice and the song stays the same.

So, i put back the links to the cover:
(if some of the band member do not agree me doing this, just tell me then i'll keep the song for me. No problemo)

to Load the song click <a href='http://fr.audiofanzine.com/compos/titres/media,idproduit,54375,mode,down.html' target='_blank'>HERE>load</a>

to hear it directly in streaming:
<a href='http://fr.audiofanzine.com/compos/titres/media,idproduit,54375,mode,stream.html' target='_blank'>Here>streaming</a>

Hope you'll like it, and i repaet that i'm totally an amateur, so don't expect too much. <!--emo&;)--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/wink.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='wink.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Sounds better, the synth can be heard more clearly now. But get a singer. <!--emo&:)--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/smile.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='smile.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Louder and a bit clearer... But I think I'm having a hard time telling if you're clipping or if you're using bad cables somewhere. Ever try using T-Racks for mastering?

Well i use bad cables. Should buy some others but that's expensive. Someday...
But i think some clippings are due to a synth that i've lost and i've converted it audio file, so i can't change it now it's recorded. <!--emo&<_<--><img src='style_emoticons/<#EMO_DIR#>/dry.gif' border='0' style='vertical-align:middle' alt='dry.gif' /><!--endemo-->

Otherwise, T-racks is a good soft but sometimes i think it can destroy a mix. Here i have used Psp Vintage Warmer.
Thanks for the commetns dudes.

If it destroys a mix, you probably have the limiter and eq set wrong. Try bypassing different parts of the rack to see what's killing it. Also, be sure to leave lots of head room with the original mix (the wav should be very quiet before you master) so you can compress/limit and get it louder without clipping it. If you need any help with mixing/mastering, don't be a stranger.
