Your sadness is contagious, MoT! :(

Must be positive...so...I love that track listing! So many of my favorites. Kind of wish more of an emphasis on the early stuff, specifically, Fair And 'Guiling Copesmate Death, Sweet Art Thou or A Distance There Is would have been brilliant to see on DVD. But there is enough from that era that I am happy. Lorelei, A Hamlet for a Slothful Vassal, Siren, A Rose for the Dead...great songs.

cannot wait for the DVD! I'm glad you got to put together a meetup too. If I had known I would've tried to be there. Did anyone happen to get any photos there?

Wow. What a trip. It was great to meet some of you and sorry if I missed anyone. After the show people seemed to scatter.

I was pretty jetlagged but the show and the whole experience were well worth it. I felt privileged to be there to pay homage to one of my favorite bands.
That was a great set list and a fitting end. I admit I teared up a few times: Nell thanking the fans who travelled, the waves of personal memories with certain tracks, and Nell tearing up as Raymond kissed her before the last song.

Long live ToT.

Now I just need an excuse to go back to Norway :-) ^^

A gig different than others. Very enjoyable and sad at once.
So many memories attached to each song played became alive that night..(e.g. years ago- hours spent on listening to cassette tapes and trying to figure out what are this old english lyrics about:)). And suddenly, while Nelly is singing "Forever is the World" you realize it's over...
As CDM wrote above- it was a privilege to be in Folken that night and say simply "Thank you" to band members for these 17 years.
Disappointment? Norwegian public- not really focused on the performance.
PS1.I'll place some photos soon.
PS2.I couldn't take part in band's meeting on Friday night. Maybe someone could tell few words about what happened?

Pizza, beer, vodka, party, fun and the band playing a couple of songs.
That pretty much sums it up... ;)
Everyone could get his stuff signed and make pictures with the band.

I have an olden style ToT shirt once belonging to Fox Mulder (signed by him), so get as many board and band members to sign it as possible.
I always knew you would have done good use of that shirt!
I'm so happy you took it there: as I couldn't attend the gig , I now feel like a part of me has been there anyway...
Thanks ToT, thanks to all board members, thanks for all the memories.

I'm really glad all of you had a great time on meeting and concert! :) wish I could be there also but I couldn't make it. ;(
Now I really can't wait for a DVD! (btw, when is it going to be released?)

TOT, unfortunately I never saw you live but your music will forever be big part of my life and you'll always be for me one of the greatest and most inovative bands ever.
( secretly hoping for some reunion gig after several years :D )

I don't hope that drunk, beer-spilling idiot in the lumberjack-shirt made it into the DVD's sound picture..

Damn that guy was obnoxious. I was maybe 2 or 3 people back from the stage behind Goldhamster and Master of Tragedy, then this checkered-shirt neanderthal starting acting up sometime during Hide and Seek and I just had to move. But I've seen worse. As long as he gets no camera time, which I'm sure he won't. Luckily, such disrespectful people who had no real reverence for the moment were very very few.

That was in general a wonderfully diverse and emotionally charged crowd.

Someone should make a list of all of the countries represented.

I agree with Faltratte, that I was very surprised about the concert itself. I've never been so alive at a show before (Yeah Kain, I did go "medieval" after all!), and the setlist was nearly perfect. My favourite moments would be when Lorentz rushed to the front to bang his head, and when Raymond and Nell turned all emotional on stage. I am also quite sure Hein noticed my marking one of the off-beat kick/china punches from Bring Forth Ye Shadow with my fist :D
However, .... and when he falleth didn't excite me as much as I thought it would've. Maybe Kain and FrozenFear has something to do with that, hehe.

It seems like I missed out on something really important friday evening though, I really regret that. It seemed like most of the happy days were friday, while saturday was mourning/hangover-day ;( / :pinch:
However, it was really worth the long transport and everything.

I was right in front of him and didn't yield an inch 8) Come to think about it, I think he was just drunk, not necessarily a complete moron. He knew all the lyrics and was very active with his camera. And if he would have wanted to push me away, I am sure he could have.

I also thought it would mean something to you, as well. I will post a picture of it when I get near a camera ;)

I echo this as well. Missing Friday was hard to take.

I suppose you're right. Some of us have a lower tolerance for that behavior than others. In good faith, I'll chalk it up to drunk exuberance :)

I also think it was the best show I have ever seen. But unfortunately the most emotional one, too.
Since it was the last gig the band seem to give their best (as always). Even though it was very emotional for them as well.
I really have to say it was the travel worth for joining and saying goodbye.
Most of the board members were in the front and supported the band.

I do agree with MoT. Why not?

I'd love to go to one. There were things in life that prevented me from doing much of anything these past months. Bad timing for bad mojo to follow me around. Wish I could've been there, folks.

Improvisation I guess. About fish and that we should piss off now... ;)

It was a good time we had in Stavanger.
I was especially happy to meet several people in person I've been talking to on ICQ and facebook.

The Friday was pure awesomeness. The beer was good, the pizza was yummy, Peggy's green tea liqueur was delicious, and we had really, really, really great fun.
Frank is one of the best sopranos I ever heard *giggles* and he has a wonderful sense of humour. The kick-out-song was a masterpiece! (OK, might not have been appreciated by the "This is electroshit !!1!"-kids, as it was a free and hilarious interpretation of Scooter's "How much is the fish" vs. "Der Tanz der Schatten"... :D)
And Erik Torp should have gotten the bass player job much earlier - heck, that man is a really great guy - a big cuddly bear with great skills! :) Hope to hear from him! Oh, and walking home to the gas station arm in arm with Vegard was priceless. (By the way big thanks to Vegard's sweet wife for giving us a ride to the hotel. )

Saturday... was... well - let's call it "mixed feelings". I met Tommy Olsson and had a short talk to Kristian Sigland before the show. Two sympathic men with awesome songwriter qualities, I'm really glad I saw these two in real life!!
The concert was wonderful and horrible at the same time. The band gave everything, really. They did an awesome show, and I never saw such a lively Raymond on stage. In London he was already great - but on Saturday he was unbeatable! At one song even Lorentz left the keyboard to headbang in the front of the stage...
Yet I was very upset about huge smelly photographers, blocking my view on the stage right during my favourite songs. :( And I was completely down with my nerves, but managed to stay kind of strong... until "Forever is the world". Mine broke down right at the moment Nell sang the first line, when the "Now it's over" feeling finally kicked in. I'm still unable to even think of that song without shedding a tear, and it felt like getting my heart ripped out.

So what's left to say?
Thanks for you, ToT. Thanks for being a damn big part in my life, thanks for everything. I'll always love you.
I wish you all the best for your future projects. Probably out of pure egoism, because I can't live without music coming out of your hearts and hands. Yet I'll never give up the thought of a reunion, and hope to stay in touch with you. Forever is the world - and forever in my heart there's a place for Theatre of Tragedy.
Don't worry. I don't have low self esteem. It's a mistake. I have low esteem for everyone else. (Daria Morgendorffer)

There were saturated days passed!
I was happy to meet Theatre's fanclub. I'm really in love with everyone I talked to that day! That was extraordinary experience of speaking and listening to english speech. Damned language barrier! I had to stand or sit aside in mysterious silence, because not always understood what people around say. I've never had so large speaking experience, and probably will never have again... So, feel free to add me on facebook and last.fm and write to me whatever you wish - otherwise I'll continue to forget language.
As for the band, of course, it was perfect concert. It's a pity that it was too short. I'd wish so much to attend it once more. Many times... And better - in my homecity :) Well, when I'll get DVD, I will have a personal ToT сoncert every evening I like.
But even though, video on a display can't be compared to feelings of live concert...
Thank you, thank you dear Theatre of Tragedy for "all the beautiful moments shared"...

But maybe we should do something like that every year now until Theatre of Tragedy finally give in to reunite?

I hope much to appear among you again some day. There could be, for example, smth like Amphi festival in Germany. hm?

Did anyone happen to get any photos there?

I'll make a small photo report.. or big photo report.. 8) maybe on a weekend :)

P.S. Could anyone send me the issue of Stavanger Aftenblad with an article about fan-meeting? I can make a scan from Monday issue in return.
And I'd like to see again the video with Frank on vocals :)

I have attached the Aftenbladet scans.
There was also a small picture of me from the meet&greet but it is on another page and I have no scan of that. And we lost our copy.
Anyone here that has this picture and is able to scan it?

Oh, great, thanx, I've already searched for pdf's on afterbladet.no, but found nothing.
I was so absent-minded that day that totally forgot about sweets from Russia in my pockets, which I could distribute... Seems that they're still there :S

Today I discovered a lack of Vegard's photo among other signed photos. Perhaps, some of my neighbors heard a howling today.

Luh, thank you!
