I just read a post that is now locked because some people on this discussion board are becoming a little bit too ridiculous! Are you a fan of ToT or do you just want to get the "Power User" status with thoughtless posts? If you were a true fan you would respect each band member for their musical talent. Just like when a person likes a certain T-shirt...do you like it because of the color of the shirt...or is it the art and shirt itsself that you like? It usually has to be both right? Well, some only like music because it is a certain style. They have one track minds and are narrow, shallow, and crude. Just using examples to get my point across. I think a lot of people did make good points too though but that is not my issue. There was one comment that I thought to be very rude and judgemental. It was implied that the band wanted to eventually tour the U.S., be on M.T.V., and basically was insulting the band for their musical diversity. Now even if the band did do something like this I would not burn their C.D.'s! To do so would be a waste of beautiful music that I enjoy and a waste of money! I used to like old Metallica for instance and then they changed a lot and now are not my style anymore. I don't listen to the stuff that I don't like but I will still listen to and own the older stuff that I love. If can't handle the way a band(such as ToT) will evolve and become different then you are not really a fan. You weren't listening to them because you respected their individual musical contributions and styles but because they played that ONE style that you liked. In defense of ToT I think that if you can't handle "Assembly" or "Musique" because it is different then go find a band who plays the style you like.

Thanks for defending the band, Eve... ;-)

Well, actually they just posted off-topic messages and were attacking each other. Normally it's ok to post off-topic but this time it already got some kind of war and I don't think this board should serve as a theatre of war...

No-one asked my opinion but I totally agree with what Eve has said.
I created that topic(look out, Master!I'll chase you 'til the end... ) and in its last days it had nothing to do with what I wrote. All right, this happens all the time, but generally people respect each other(to make things worse, it seemed we had a sort of geographical problem there :x ).
As Phillips(the company) used to say, let's make things better(I'm not receiving any money for that, believe me )!If you don't like TOT anymore, don't listen to them!Every bloody fan has something to complain about.I have, you have. However we don't need to get to the lowest point of offending peole who give(or gave, if some of the fans prefer...) part of their time to us.
It is a matter of politeness and understanding.
That's all.

PS:Beware, Master...closing my topic may cause you some "problems"(I can add normal milk into your soya milk-I am very dangerous...

To a person playing it webmaster :green:
I never said I didn't want to be ridiculous. I had some great laughs.
I never said I'm a fan...! I just listen to their music everyday. If I was a fan I would have a narrow, shallow, and crude mind and I would go probably to give head to them :green:
I don't like T-shirts - I prefer tank tops :green:
Well about the bands diversity, I should say that Madonna and Brittney Spears have a musical diversity as well... And we have to respect them... How would they ever play with a band like ToT?? :green:

To webmaster - Master of Tragedy
What is your problem? I am sure that a lot of people enjoyed this war very much! Well actually my flatmate said that Warkhan wrote me an answer, but I didn't read it...
Can you email it or pm it to me? I would really love to see it what he wrote! :green:
To Luctepes
I don't care about what you said... :green:

To Lucpetes, I thank you kindly for your respect! I was not attacking your topic, rather those who went off the topic. In the end it became a war and this was unnecessary. This was also NOT YOUR fault! I am not here to lay blame on anyone. Oh, but don't poison master with milk, he is needed for our favorite site!

I don't like this idea of "true fan" much. To me it is very similar to "sheep." I would like to think that you can like a band's music and/or ideas, but not blindly chain yourself to them so that when something that isn't your cup of tea comes from them, you don't praise falsely. I am not a "fan" of any bands. I just happen to like much of the music and values given by some. So I guess, while I may not be in this slot "true fan" of TOT, I like the music anyway. Plus, I think, even if I thought Assembly was a horrible sound, I would respect the bandmembers for following their guts and not stupid fans like me that suggest changes all the time.

Well said, Zack!No-one has to act like sheeps. As I wrote before, everybody has something to complain about TOT(or other bands).I think it would sound great if Raymond mixed "clean voice" with the "old style" for exemple.
The matter is that you don't have to judge or to be unpolite just because you don't enjoy some band's new tendencies. That's a childish behaviour.
And that thing about "true" or "false" should never be used at all(it reminds me of Manowar ) ).You have my support on that!
Cheers!

Luctepes are you joking man?!?!?
OF COURSE IT IS A CHILDISH BEHAVIOUR!!!!!!! Their fans are kids! LOOK AT TOT!!!! THEY ARE ALSO KIDS MANNNN!!!!!! We are all kids!
The oldest guy in the group is born in '72 while there are two '76's, and one '75, '77 and '78!!!
The most depressing thing ( ) is that they made all their greatest albums in smaller ages, while now instead of getting much better, by keeping their great MUSIC COMPOSITION ABILITY alive and kicking, they go one step backwards or say it how ever you like... There are even times that I cannot believe that THEY COMPOSED their early GREAT songs... Where is the music and the lyrical compositions?
Will they ever make MUSIC again? I dunno, but I like Assembly... (answering to Master as well) Its not that I don't like it! I love music in general...! Whatever I said is for them only, and I think that they are already thinking of changing some things...

Where is the melodic piano, where are the orgasmic quitars? The violin?
Is this the future of music?!?!?!?!? IS THIS?!?!?!?!?

I dunno guys, maybe its me, maybe I'm getting VERY OLD and STUPID...
Maybe I'm a madman that doesn't know what he says...
Maybe I'm simply a fucking asshole that wants to harm them...

...one thing is for sure: that I'm very very hungry now.... ;(

yup mate, we will one day... my uncle is living in Sao Paulo, he has a couple of shoe shops... "oi" by the way
...this would be cool, everyone from this board to arrange a meeting somewhere that would be near to everyone (if this could ever happen) and have some huge quantities of good beer, absinthe :green: etc, but in only one condition (as I always say :green: ):

that the band will play for us - their closest, I think - friends LIVE!!!! (More like a close party)

It would be sooo cool if this could ever happen!!!! We would meet in person some interesting guys from here as well :green: - apart from the band of course...
