Ambro gave me the idea for this topic:

QUOTE(Ambrosius)
Part of that was through most of Aegis, her vocals were layered octaves. Her speaking voice was quite sexy and her slightly off key soprano voice mixed very low in the background complimented it fairly well. It set the whole dreamy mood for Aegis. I applaud the producer rather than her for the good sound on that album.

I have to say that I don't like how the drums and Liv's voice sound on S/T. Even though Velvet Darkness was (IMHO) the ToT album with the most production, Aegis has no orchestra nor songs in German but has even more ambient to it. And I can't decide on which album has best production between Musique and Assembly.

The instruments are so coordinated between themselves and it has the best chords in all ToT's discography. The dialogues from the movie wich appears in some songs(and when he halleth and fair and gulling copesmate death as I remember) give more ambient, they give an argumental lyne to the album although it has not had it. Even the ending and the end of the album is so interesting. The album starts with the theme "VDTF", which is soft and introduces the song that we can call the 1st one of the album, Fair and Gulling copesmate death, and the end, with that Liv's surrounds and the end of The Masquerader at Phoenix tells you that the CD has ended. Everyting seems to be made in a musical line...I do not know if I'm explaining myself now, but I mean, that everything is in the same lyne, is like a book, consecutive.

I don't know if I have explained myself correctly(btw it's starting to sound And when he falleth ) but at least I tried

PS: Assembly the mos voted one?? Well, I voted for Aégis. Not that I know much about this thing.. But I just think the sound on Aégis is so clean and pure.. Everything fits well together and the vocals are just perfect

IMO, the cleanest production was Assembly. Then I'd probably have to go with Inperspective. The production on Musique seemed kinda shoddy, and I think that's actually the worst produced album from ToT.

I'm divided between VDTF and Aegis. Guitars on both albums (VDTF especially) were very clean, almost no noise. They were both mixed very well and whoever did the mastering really knew how to handle EQ and stereo separation. The thing that separates the two albums is the atmosphere of the mix in VDTF and they excellent keys and bass tone (wow that's warm) on Aegis.

Wish I had more studio stuff.

All the contrary to S/T. Musique seems to sound 'grainy' on purpose. But what the fuck is wrong with the drums on S/T? I like the songs a lot, but the producer could have made a better job.
